KATHMANDU, Oct 10: The Kaligandaki Corridor road section in Gulmi has been obstructed due to a landslide.
The District Police Office reported that the road is completely blocked following a landslide at Rakse in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-2, which is part of the Kaligandaki Corridor.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
The obstruction occurred after a landslide, accompanied by rocks, fell onto the road from above. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Birendra Bir Bishwakarma, the information officer for the District Police Office, stated that a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Baburam Shrestha from the Purtighat Police Post has been deployed to the site.
According to him, the blockage has left passengers and vehicles—traveling from the area to destinations such as Baglung, Pokhara, Palpa, and Butwal during the festive season—stranded mid-journey.
The District Police Office stated that coordination is underway with the road construction company and the local rural municipality to clear the landslide and restore traffic flow.
