GULMI, Sept 28: The Kaligandaki corridor road has been obstructed due to a landslide. The road has been completely closed since last night after a huge landslide fell on the Ridi-Rudrabeni road section under the Kaligandaki corridor, said the district police office, Gulmi. As a result of the road obstruction, passengers and vehicles heading to Palpa, Butwal and other destinations from the area have been stranded.
Last night, a landslide with a huge rock fell at Bishnupanjar near Ridi bazar under Ruruchhetra Rural Municipality, blocking the road, said the police.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
Upon receiving the information about the landslide, a team led by Inspector Anil Thapa from the Area Police Office, Ridi, has been working at the incident site since the morning to clear the debris and open the road, it has been said. Removing debris with the help of an excavator is underway, said Yadu Gyawali, chairperson of Ruruchhetra Rural Municipality. The road leading to Burtibang of Baglung district through Ridi-Rudrabeni-Wamitaksar is busy all the time with the highest number of vehicles plying all the time.
Repair is underway to open the blocked road as soon as possible, said Chief District Officer Tek Bahadur KC.
