KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday fell 20.41 points to close at 2,645.39 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,665.81 points and surged to the day’s high at 2,684.36 points in the first 20 minutes. The index then declined to 2,659.22 points in another 20 minutes, while it remained almost stable for the next two hours and 15 minutes. The market, however, fell to the day’s low at 2,637.7 points in the last two minutes before the market closed for the day.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also declined 3.45 points. The daily turnover jumped to Rs 6.27 billion from Rs 4.17 billion on Tuesday.
Among individual companies, 76 were gainers whereas 155 companies were recorded as the losers.
Only two groups including finance and trading surged 76.23 points and 9.18 points, respectively. Of the remaining 11 losers, non-life insurance shed the largest of 55.42 points.
ICFC Finance Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 434.44 million. The company was also recorded as the topmost gainer of the day. Mahuli Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost 4.28 percent of its market value and was the topmost loser.
