PM Oli discusses teachers' demands with ministers and secretaries

KATHMANDU April 7:  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday held a discussion with the relevant ministers and secretaries regarding the demands and protests of the teaching community.


The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel; Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak; Education, Science, and Technology Minister Bidhya Bhattarai; Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, and secretaries from the concerned ministries. The discussion emphasized the need for further groundwork and resolving the issues through dialogue.

Representatives from the Ministry of Education informed the meeting about the demands raised in the ongoing protest in Kathmandu, called by the Nepal Teachers' Association. Likewise, the discussion also covered topics such as the current economic situation, the process of drafting laws for school education, the immediate demands the government can fulfill, and ensuring the quality of education.
