KATHMANDU, July 13: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has raised alarm over the parking of suspicious vehicles outside the gates of several media houses, saying the incidents disrupted journalists’ movement and created an atmosphere of fear among media workers.
According to the FNJ, suspicious vehicles were parked outside the gates of Kantipur Publications in Tinkune, Onlinekhabar in Buddhanagar and Himalaya Television in Mid-Baneshwar, among other media houses, from 7 am on Monday. The federation said the vehicles obstructed journalists working at those organizations from freely entering and leaving their workplaces.

The FNJ has urged the concerned authorities to immediately remove the vehicles and ensure the safety and security of journalists and media organizations. It has also demanded an immediate investigation into the incident and legal action against those responsible for what it described as an obstruction of the professional rights of journalists and media outlets.
The federation said it is coordinating with security agencies to address the issue and remove the obstruction.
In a press statement, FNJ General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal said the state must take the matter seriously and ensure that journalists’ constitutional right to collect and disseminate news remains protected without any form of interference.
