KATHMANDU, Oct 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday fell 18.25 points to close at 2,627.14 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,645.39 points and surged to the day’s high at 2,650.18 points in just two minutes of trading. The index, however, went to a successive fall and reached the day’s low at 2,615.27 points in the next one hour and 40 minutes. The market bounced back around 12 points in the remaining period before the market closed for the day.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also declined by 2.99 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 5.41 billion from Rs 6.27 billion on Wednesday.
Among individual companies, 67 were gainers whereas 170 companies were recorded as the losers.
Out of the 13 trading groups, only hydropower added 11.65 points to its index. Of the losers, manufacturing and processing shed the largest of 89.05 points.
NLG Insurance Company Ltd had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 343.12 million. Rawa Energy Development Limited had its shares declined by the highest of 10 percent of its market price. Nepal SBI Bank Limited posted the biggest gain of 9.75 percent of its market value.
