KATHMANDU, October 12: A Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) plane, carrying 253 Nepalis from Israel, took off from Tel Aviv, Israel, according to aides of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The rescue flight is scheduled to land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu at 1:30 AM.


Initially, the plane was scheduled to arrive at the TIA Kathmandu at 9:30 PM. However, there has been a delay in its arrival.

All the passengers on board are students studying in Israel. A government team led by Foreign Minister NP Saud had left for Israel last night to facilitate the repatriation of students seeking immediate rescue.


Over 300 Nepali nationals had applied online to return to Nepal. Accordingly, 253 students are returning to Nepal in the first phase.
