KATHMANDU, March 5: The Federal Parliament Secretariat has suspended the entry passes of two journalists for one month over alleged misconduct while questioning Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

A secretary-general-level decision barred Prakash Oli of Sunaulo Nepal and Kishor Kumar Shrestha of Yuwa Man Channel from entering Parliament.

"Journalists must follow a code of conduct when entering Parliament. Since they violated it, we decided to suspend them for one month,” said Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri.

Authorities reportedly took action after the journalists used inappropriate language while questioning the Prime Minister and lawmakers. UML lawmaker Surya Thapa raised the issue in Parliament, citing a journalist's remark comparing the Prime Minister to Hitler.

The controversy arose when, as PM Oli exited the Parliament building, a journalist asked, “Why is there a dictatorial tendency, Prime Minister? At least answer before you go.” Another journalist followed up, questioning, "Is your government heading towards a Hitler-like tendency?"

The exchange sparked objections from lawmaker Surya Thapa, leading to the journalists' suspension.
