Police investigate Nepali deportees

KATHMANDU, March 5: The police have taken responsibility for the eight individuals deported by the US and brought to Kathmandu.



On Wednesday, the Tribhuvan International Airport Immigration Office handed their case to the Nepal Police Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau.

The bureau will investigate the individuals, as a human trafficking syndicate may have illegally sent them to the US. It plans to question them and will hand them over to their relatives only after completing the questioning.


As part of a campaign to deport individuals living illegally, the US brought eight Nepalis, including seven men and one woman, to Kathmandu this morning.
