Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) organized a book-launch event along with an exhibition of portrait paintings on its premises, Naxal, on Sunday.
The book 'Nepali Abstract Painting: A Development Analysis' by Krishna Prakash Shah was launched by Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Krishna Gopal Shrestha.

According to a press statement released by NAFA, speaking on the occasion, the minister said, "Democracy is strengthened only if the parties are strong. That requires a strong opposition. Otherwise democracy will be weak. ”
Likewise, speaking on the occasion, KK Karmacharya, chancellor of NAFA, said that the academy is working smoothly for the study, research and development of the history of Nepali fine arts.
Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Manandhar, former chancellor of NAFA, said that the work of portrait painting was very difficult and there was still a lot of work to be done in this regard in Nepal.
Then, Pradip Kumar Shrestha, chairman of the Panchkanya Group, expressed his happiness over the painting of his face and said that he was very happy to be associated with art. On behalf of the artists participating in the portrait painting workshop, artist Baburaja Dhasla said that he and all his teammates were happy to participate in the workshop.
Similarly, the author of the book, Krishna Prakash Shah said that abstract art is the presentation of imagination and experience and the search for a new dimension.
Some percent of the amount received from the selling of the portraits will be donated to Kalika Secondary School, Sindhupalchowk-6.
