The opening of the exhibition kicked off on Friday at Gallery Mcube, Chakupat, Lalitpur. The exhibition began with Japanese Tea Ceremony. That was followed by a movie session. The movie ‘My Love-promise’ for Kathmandu made by Japanese filmmaker Toshiaki Itho was showcased in the opening ceremony that was followed by an interaction program with the lead actor of the movie, Ganesh Man Lama.

Talking about the exhibition in Nepal, Masae Suzuki said, “Once I landed in Nepal I felt that the traffic and the pollution level here in Nepal was same as it was in Japan years back. I basically want to show people about the busy city life and express the time, figure and thoughts about the city.”

In the exhibition, it needs some time to figure out what the painting is all about. The colorful repetitive small geometric figures such rectangle, square and more created a sense of city clustered concrete houses seen in urban areas. Then the artist has used minimal approach to show the density of a cityscape justifying the title of the exhibition.

Moreover, Manish Lal Shrestha the founder, executive director, visual artist and Curator of Gallery Mcube shared, “I feel really good about the diplomatic collaboration and showing affection to art by improving the ties between two countries and making Nepal-Japan relationship better.”

The exhibition will run till June 30.
