KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Nepal recorded 260 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday along with 349 recoveries and one death, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 11,898 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 237 PCR and 23 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,146 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,817 are in home isolation, 231 in institutional isolation, 77 in ICUs and 21 on ventilators. Similarly, 99 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,582 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 151 cases of the virus on Friday. Of them, 106 were recorded in Kathmandu, 10 in Bhaktapur, and 35 in Lalitpur districts.
