KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Nepal recorded 264 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday along with 260 recoveries and two deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 12,566 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 241 PCR and 23 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,016 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,665 are in home isolation, 245 in institutional isolation, 84 in ICUs, and 22 on ventilators. Similarly, 98 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,586 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 149 cases of the virus on Tuesday. Of them, 112 were recorded in Kathmandu, eight in Bhaktapur, and 29 in Lalitpur districts.
