The task force plans to finalize its report on party reorganization and submit it to the secretariat. The UML’s Election Review and Party Reorganization Task Force had assigned three leaders to merge two separate reports into a single document.

After the task force failed to reach an agreement on the reports during a two-day residential meeting in Balthali, Kavre, it assigned task force coordinator Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, member Bishnu Prasad Paudel, and member-secretary Shankar Pokharel to prepare a unified report incorporating both reports and members' suggestions.

According to UML Deputy General Secretary and task force member Lekh Raj Bhatta, the three leaders received two days to prepare the unified report. The task force will discuss and endorse the report at Sunday’s meeting before submitting it to the central secretariat.

Pokharel, who serves as the task force member-secretary, had proposed in his report on party reorganization that party chair KP Sharma Oli should pave the way for a leadership transition. After Oli expressed dissatisfaction with the report, the task force asked coordinator Badal to prepare another report.

The task force subsequently discussed separate reports prepared by Badal and Pokharel. It held the residential meeting in Balthali to merge the two reports, but failed to reach an agreement and assigned the three leaders to prepare a unified document.

Meanwhile, the UML’s central committee will meet on September 21, 22 and 23 at Rambagh Palace in Bhanimandal, Lalitpur.
