Madhesh Province head approves chief minister’s resignation

It may be noted that CM Singh had earlier announced his resignation instead of facing a vote of confidence.

JANAKPUR, Oct 15: The Chief of Madhesh Province, Sumitra Subedi Bhandari, approved the resignation submitted by the Chief Minister of the province, Satish Kumar Singh, on Tuesday.



According to a statement released by the Office of the Chief of Madhesh Province, Bhandari endorsed CM Singh’s resignation in accordance with Article 169(10a) of the Constitution.

It may be noted that CM Singh had earlier announced his resignation instead of facing a vote of confidence.


The statement, issued by Satrudhan Yadav, secretary at the Office of the Province Chief, further noted that under Article 169(3) of the Constitution, the current Council of Ministers has been entrusted with the responsibility of running the affairs of the provincial government until further notice.
