KATHMANDU: Former Nepal champion Badri Lal Nepali, Rupesh Jaiswal and Madan Krishna Kayastha shared the lead in the Nepal Bank Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament after the completion of the fifth round on Tuesday. All three players have 4.5 points each after the completion of five rounds.
Nepali defeated Rajan Puri in the fourth round and edged past Santosh Gautam in the fifth round. [break]U-19 national champion Jaiswal defeated Krishna Thapa in the fourth round and played a draw in the fifth round against Kayastha, who beat FIDE Master Manish Hamal in the fourth round.
