KATHMANDU, Dec 15: A team of District Police Range, Kathmandu, has arrested Shashi Kiran Shrestha, the then deputy manager of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) after 13 years.
Navraj Adhikari, Superintendent of Police (SP) and Spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said that Shrestha was arrested from Swayambhu in Kathmandu as he was found guilty in a corruption case. SP Adhikari said, “Our team has arrested him for the execution of the verdict as he was found guilty in the corruption case.”

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against Shrestha. The CIAA concluded that after the case was filed, Shrestha, who had been absconding for 13 years, was found to have caused a loss of Rs 398 million by misusing his authority during the time of loan disbursement.
SP Adhikari said that the arrested Shrestha will be presented to the court on Monday for the execution of the verdict.
