KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Sudurpaschim Royals have set a target of 154 runs for Pokhara Avengers on Sunday’s second match of the inaugural season of Nepal Premier League (NPL).
The Avengers won the toss and invited the Royals to bat first. In the first innings, Royals managed to score 153 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

Aarif Sheikh amassed 42 runs(not out) for Sudurpaschim Royals. He hit 2 fours and 1 six off 38 balls.
Openers Saif Zaib and Binod Bhandari were dismissed for 9 runs and 14 runs respectively. Zaib was bowled by Avengers’ Raymond Reifer in the second over. Bhandari was caught by Bipin Khatri off Avengers’ captain Kushal Bhurtel in the seventh over. Brandon McMullen was dismissed for 23 runs. He was caught by Bhurtel off Sagar Dhakal.
In the last ball of the 15th over, Royals’ captain Dipendra Singh Airee was bowled by Sagar Dhakal’s LBW while scoring 20 runs off 16 balls, hitting 1 six.
From the Avengers’ bowling front, captain Kushal Bhurtel took 2 wickets while Reifer, Sagar Dhakal and Michael Leask took 1 wicket each.
