KATHMANDU, Dec 16: Nirmala Sharma has won the presidency of the Federation of Nepali Journalists. According to the final voting results announced late Sunday by the FNJ's central election committee, Sharma received 4,282 votes.
Her nearest rival, Ramesh Bista, received 3,203 votes. Another candidate for president, Devi Prasad Sapkota, received 270 votes, while Lal Singh Lama received 96 votes, as informed by the election committee.
In the senior vice-presidency, Deepak Acharya was elected with 4,230 votes, while his nearest competitor, Roshan Puri, received 2,886 votes. In the vice-presidency for women, Nitu Pandit won with 4,705 votes, while Ganga Paudel Baral received 2,644 votes.
In the inclusive vice-presidency, Umid Prasad Bagchand won with 4,292 votes, while his nearest competitor, Subhash Prasad Sah, received 2,080 votes.
In the general secretary position, Ram Prasad Dahal won with 4,084 votes, while his nearest competitor, Leknath Nyaupane, received 1,929 votes. In the open secretary position, Ramesh Khatiwada won with 3,400 votes. In the women's secretary position, Soni Sharma won with 4,347 votes.

Similarly, in the secretary position for indigenous communities, Sabin Priyasan won with 3,535 votes. In the Madhesi secretary position, Ashok Kumar Tiwari won with 3,858 votes. In the Dalit secretary position, Prakash Dhaulakoti won with 4,110 votes, and in the associate secretary position, Baikunthraj Parajuli won with 3,645 votes.
In the treasurer position, Ram Krishna Adhikari won with 3,847 votes. For the central member position from Koshi Province, Kamal Rimala received 527 votes and Shankar Kharel received 442 votes. In the Madhes Province members' election, Raju Bishwakarma won with 297 votes and Rajesh Kumar Karna won with 376 votes.
In the central member position for Bagmati (excluding the valley), Navraj Pathik won with 368 votes, and Narayan Prasad Adhikari won with 450 votes. In Gandaki Province, Krishna KC received 330 votes, and KB Rana received 381 votes. In Lumbini Province, Ramraj Pokhrel won with 560 votes, and Bikash Banjade won with 473 votes.
In Karnali Province, Tularam Pandey won with 288 votes, and Nagesh Prasad Upadhyay won with 321 votes. In Sudurpaschim Province, Yogendra Bahadur Balayar won with 397 votes, and Suresh Pant won with 300 votes.
The election committee has announced that Arjun Pant won with 459 votes and Surya Subedi won with 668 votes for the provincial member positions in the Kathmandu Valley.
For the institutional province, Birendra Oli won with 400 votes and Savita Sharma won with 487 votes. In the associate province, Pavitri Mudbhari won with 209 votes and Manuka Kunwar won with 301 votes. In the open member category, Chhabilal Tiwari won with 3,470 votes, Bhupendra Acharya won with 3,582 votes, Mukunda Prasad Bhandari won with 3,721 votes, Rameshwar Karki won with 3,630 votes, and Labdev Dhungana won with 3,830 votes.
In the Madhesi women category, Ruby Kumari Rauniyar won with 4,185 votes. In the Indigenous women category, Mala Palungwal won with 3,737 votes, and in the Khas Arya women category, Lila Shah Yogi won with 3,810 votes. In the Dalit women category, Rita Budhathoki was elected unopposed.
In the Dalit member category, Sikendra Paswan won with 3,316 votes, while Savitri Rasaily was elected unopposed in the same category. In the Indigenous community member category, Bharat Jarcha Magar won with 4,050 votes, and in the Indigenous women member category, Devika Gharti Magar was elected unopposed.
In the Madhesi member category, Rajkaran Mahato won with 3,893 votes, and in the Madhesi women member category, Lalita Kumari Sah won with 4,409 votes. In the disability category, Bhupraja Basyal won with 3,557 votes, and in the minority member category, Laxman Thami won with 4,373 votes.
In the position of Chairperson of the Accounts Committee, KC Lamichhane was elected with 4,194 votes. In the same committee's general member category, Keshav Prasad Bohara won with 4,125 votes, and in the women’s member category, Rukmini Pokhrel won with 4,089 votes. The election of the association was held on December 13.
