INSEC congratulates Rana

KATHMANDU, June 23: Informal Sector Service Centre, Nepal (INSEC) today congratulated rights activist Bandana as she was elected member of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). It also wished her a successful tenure ahead.

KATHMANDU, June 23: Informal Sector Service Centre, Nepal (INSEC) today congratulated rights activist Bandana as she was elected member of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). It also wished her a successful tenure ahead. 


The statement issued by Chairman of INSEC's Nepal's chapter Subodh Pyakurel said that Rana would do her best in the field of women's rights during her stint.

Rana was elected as member of the UN CEDAW in elections in New York in the United States of America on June 21. 


Rana is the first Nepali to be elected as the member of UN CEDAW. Earlier, the government had nominated human rights lawyer Sapana Pradhan Malla for the UN CEDAW but she failed to secure enough votes. RSS
