MP Shrestha accuses NC of encroaching on Newar community's cemetery land

MPs from the NC raised uproar in the session, demanding that the remark be removed from the parliamentary record.

KATHMANDU, March 12: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Sumana Shrestha has accused Nepali Congress (NC) leaders of encroaching on the land of a Newar community cemetery at Loktantrik Chowk in Tarkeshwar-9, Kathmandu.


Speaking during the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, MP Shrestha made the claim. Following her statement, MPs from the NC raised uproar in the session, demanding that the remark be removed from the parliamentary record.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire had said that whenever members of parliament speak in the house, MPs should base their opinions on facts and evidence.
