Changunarayan Incident: Badal jailed for killing his friend Niraj Lama

Following the discovery of Niraj's body, Badal was arrested for investigation. A case has been filed against him at the Bhaktapur District Court on charges of manslaughter.

KATHMANDU, March 12: Badal Tamang, arrested in connection with the murder of his friend Niraj Lama, has been sent to jail. Niraj was found dead in a house in Khoriya, Changunarayan Municipality-4, Bhaktapur, on February 18.


Following the discovery of Niraj's body, Badal was arrested for investigation. A case has been filed against him at the Bhaktapur District Court on charges of manslaughter.

On March 10, a bench of Judge Dilip Raj Pant ordered Badal to be sent to jail for trial. According to the police, Niraj had gone to Badal's house on the night of February 17. They had slept in separate rooms.


Police said that Badal found Niraj unconscious when he went to call him as he did not wake up even after 3 pm on February 18. He was found dead when the police team reached the spot.
