The greatest human right is the right to life. However, women are killed under various pretexts. This year, 111 women were killed as a result of domestic violence. Last year, this number was 112. It is mentioned in the report that one woman was killed for not bringing dowry, while 25 women were subjected to violence for the same reason. INSEC also stated that 15 women were victims of marital rape.

Although there has been significant improvement in the legal provisions related to women and political participation, women in Nepal have been suffering from various forms of structural and gender-based violence. As long as there is weak enforcement, there will be no reduction in these types of crimes, according to the INSEC report.
