Indian national arrested in Kapilvastu with undeclared cash worth over Rs 4.2 million

Police recovered Rs 4,263,900 in Nepali currency and INR 16,590 during a search of his room on Sunday afternoon by a team from the Ward Police Office, Chandrauta.

KAPILVASTU, April 28: Police have arrested an Indian national in Kapilvastu after finding Rs 4.29 million in his possession without a clear source.



Ashish Kumar, also known as Shiva Patwa, a 22-year-old from Sonpur, Balrampur district in India, was living in a rented room in Galaxy tole, Shivaraj Municipality-5.

Police recovered Rs 4,263,900 in Nepali currency and INR 16,590 during a search of his room on Sunday afternoon by a team from the Ward Police Office, Chandrauta.


Authorities said an investigation into the case is underway.
