No vehicle pass required for restricted area pass holders on election day

According to a press release by EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, individuals holding restricted area access passes issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal will not require a vehicle pass to travel between their homes and offices on election day.

KATHMANDU, March 4: The Election Commission (EC) has recommended special arrangements to facilitate vehicle movement for the upcoming House of Representatives election.



According to a press release by EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, individuals holding restricted area access passes issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal will not require a vehicle pass to travel between their homes and offices on election day.

The arrangement is based on Sections 5 (Clause ‘a’) and 15 of the Vehicle Permit Procedures, 2082. The EC also clarified that vehicles granted this exemption cannot be used to transport anyone other than the authorized pass holder.
