KATHMANDU, Mar 16: The 'Hello Sarkar', the hotline public grievances handling service, operated by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at five various places of the country has been closed.

The service that was run in all the five development regions has been closed after the implementation of the federal system, Hello Sarkar programme chief, Pradyumna Prasad Upadhyay, said.

The service was run in Pokhara, Dhankuta, Hetauda, Surkhet and Dipayal from the third week of January.

"We had provided the service not only from the center but also from the regional offices. The regional offices were closed after the implementation of the federalism. So the 'Hello Sarkar (Hello Government) services were closed," he said.

Although the Hello Sarkar services from these places were closed the Hello Sarkar unit at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has been handling the public complaints reported from these places.

Upadhyayy said that the Hello Sarkar services would resume from the Office of the Chief Minister of all the seven provinces.

Dr Baburam Bhattarai had started the Hello Sarkar hotline public complaints hearing service on November 3, 2011, when he was the Prime Minister.  RSS
