KATHMANDU, August 11: The police have arrested four people with the illegal drug brown sugar from three separate places in Jhapa. According to Basant Pathak, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Jhapa, an Indian citizen from Bhadrapur, one from Birtamod and two from Damak were arrested with brown sugar on Wednesday.
Nikhil Bishwas, 42, from Khoribari, Darjeeling, West Bengal, was arrested by a police team mobilized by the police office, Bhatarpur. He was coming to Nepal through the suspension bridge, Bhadrapur, Municipality-3. He had 800 mg of brown sugar with him.
Nine arrested with ‘brown sugar’
Similarly, at 7 PM on Wednesday, the police team mobilized from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Kakdvitta, and Area Police Office, Anarmani, arrested 36-year-old Badri Rajbanshi from Charpane in Birtamod Municipality-2 along with three grams of brown sugar.
Similarly, at 8 PM on Wednesday evening, a police team deputed from the Area Police Office, Damak, arrested two people with 25 grams of brown sugar and Rs 20,000 in cash. Bhim Bahadur Shrestha, 33, and Mohan Silwal, 32, of Gouradah Municipality-1, who were riding a motorcycle (Ko29P 2234), were arrested with the illegal drug.
