KMC dispatched fine notice to Nirmal Niwas via post

KATHMANDU, March 30: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has sent a fine notice through post after former King Gyanendra Shah refused to accept the letter.


The KMC has sent a penalty letter demanding that he pay a fine of Rs 793,000 in penalty for the damage and litters last Friday in and around the protest hotspot of Tinkune.

On Sunday, a team from the KMC police went to Nirmal Niwas - the ex-king’s private residence - to hand-deliver the letter. However, they were turned back at the gate by the security personnel and staff there.


Subsequently, the KMC authorities sent the fine notice to Nirmal Niwas via postal mail. During the pro-monarchy protest on Friday, there was vandalism and arson in areas like Tinkune and Koteshwor.
