British Minister of State Mitchell to visit Nepal next week

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Andrew Mitchell is going to visit Nepal. 


Mitchell, British Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), is coming to Nepal for a two-day visit.

The visit of Minister Michell comes a week after British Army chief Patrick Sanders returned from a four-day visit to Nepal, and Minister of State Mitchell is going to come to Nepal in a few days. According to diplomatic sources, the visit, which has not been announced yet, will take place on February 12-13.


During the visit, State Minister Mitchell is scheduled to meet with President Ram Chandra Paudel, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Finance Minister Prakash Saran Mahat and others, sources said.


On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the 1923 Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Nepal and Britain, high-level visits are being held between the two countries.


Mitchell has been Minister of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office since 25 October 2022.
