KATHMANDU, Oct 18: Nepal is playing its first match against Bhutan in the SAFF Women's Championship 2024.
The match between Nepal and Bhutan at Dashrath Stadium in Tripureshwor will kick off at 5:30 PM today. Nepal will take the field today with the goal of winning the match.
Captain of the Nepali women's national football team, Anjila Tumbapo Subba, stated that her team is balanced and strong and they aim to become champions in the SAFF Championship.
SAFF Women Football Championship: Nepal to face Bhutan today
Although Bhutan is comparatively weaker than Nepal, Bhutan's football team has shown good form recently, making today's match challenging for both teams.
However, Sabitra Bhandari will not be participating in today's match. She will miss the first game of the SAFF Championship due to her commitments in the French Women's League.
Nepal has played against Bhutan four times in six editions, winning all of those matches.
In today's Group B opener, Sri Lanka will compete against the Maldives. This match will take place at Dasarath Stadium and is scheduled to start at 1 PM.
