KATHMANDU, April 25: Both men’s and women’s teams of Budhanilkantha have secured the final berth of the ongoing first Manmohan Memorial Open Basketball Tournament on Tuesday. In the first semifinal of men’s category, Budhanilkantha defeated the departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club ‘B’ 88-84. Biraj Rana scored the highest 28 for the winning team. After the regulation time was ended in a 78-78 score, the match was pushed into the extra time and Budhanilkantha won 10-6 to reach the final. Budhanilkantha will now take on the winner of Army ‘A’ and SDC Hounds. In the first women’s semifinal match, Budhanilkantha beat Saipal Academy 55-51 in which Anusha Malla scored the highest 22 for the winning team.
