KATHMANDU, July 27: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken swift action against corruption by arresting Senior Head Constable Bishnu Singh, who served in the Budhanilkantha Police Division of Kathmandu. Singh was apprehended on Wednesday at Budhanilkantha Municipality Ward no. 2.
According to Bhola Dahal, the spokesperson of the authority, Senior Head Constable Singh was found guilty of accepting a bribe from a service-seeker. The illicit transaction was related to facilitating the management of sand released during the cleaning and drainage of the river.
APF promotes 2,196 personnel within a month
A dedicated team from CIAA, Tangal, successfully arrested Singh after he accepted a bribe of Rs 100,000 from the service-seeker. Additionally, Rs 62,515, the source of which was not disclosed, was also seized.
The commission is now conducting further investigations to ensure a thorough examination of the case.
