Anti Virus stalls pulling in buyers

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: Stalls selling Anti-Virus products are flooded with visitors and buyers at CAN Info-Tech 2012, thanks to growing awareness and increasing number of Internet users in the country.



With access to Internet, subscribers need to be more careful to secure programs and data from viruses, spywares, worms and others. [break]Officials manning those stalls said Internet Security or Total Security plans are better for regular Internet users than simple Anti-Virus.



More than a dozen companies are offering various offers and discounts at the event. The six-day long ICT fair will last till Tuesday.



Phonenix trading is not simply offering up to 50 percent discount, it is also giving away gift hampers on the purchase of these products. Three users package buyer is entitle to a free 4GB pendrive while sinlge user buyer gets a free mouse and a headphone.



Stall of Sagar Software and Trading featuring Kaspersky saw major sale of Anti-Virus and Internet security plans. The company is offering a 40 percent discount or Rs 100 for 90 days package on the purchase of Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Officials at Sagar Software stall said, "Increasing number of visitors, attractive offers and growing awareness among users are the major factors for better turnover this year," an official at the stall said.



Tara International, authorized dealer of Bitdefender, is offering 50 percent discount on Anti-Virus, Internet Security and Total Security.



Title Sponsor of the event, Explore Asia is giving away Panda Anti-Virus for Rs 500. The original price of the one-user package with one-year validity is Rs 900.



Similarly, Action Point Nepal, authorized dealer of Quick Heal, has unveiled ´Buy one get one free´ offer. Quick Heal Anti-Virus, Internet Security and Total Security come for Rs 999, Rs 1,450 and Rs 1,950 respectively per user for a year.
