Fire ignites during boring process

The fire gushed out of 300 meters underground near the Godawari River between Tikathali and Changathali. It is said that efforts have been underway since this morning to extinguish the fire that broke out while fitting the machine after digging the soil to place the water tank.

KATHMANDU, March 4: A fire ignited while drilling a water borehole in Tikathali, Lalitpur. The fire is coming out of the place where the boring pipe is buried.


The fire gushed out of 300 meters underground near the Godawari River between Tikathali and Changathali. It is said that efforts have been underway since this morning to extinguish the fire that broke out while fitting the machine after digging the soil to place the water tank.

Locals are trying to extinguish the fire by spraying mud and water. The Lalitpur Police Range has said that a senior team has been sent to investigate.


Lalitpur Police Range Spokesperson Narahari Regmi said that the gas was released from the site, and a fire broke out during the boring works. However, the details of the incident have not been received yet, and the cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed.
