The collection of details on the loss began as an impact of a news story carried by the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

The Agricultural Knowledge Centre in the district launched the drive to garner information through the local levels, according to Nil Kamal Singh, chief of the Centre. Earlier, the farmers in the district had submitted a memorandum to the district administration office via ward and local levels for carrying out damage assessment.

Crop conservation officer Mira Timilsina said that the center decided to conduct a monitoring of the agricultural fields and collect data on loss and damage. Wheat, maize, legumes, vegetables, and banana plants were damaged by the severe hailstones.
