DARCHULA, June 30: Nepali Congress has won the elections in Mahakali Municipality in the district.
Mayoral candidate of Nepali Congress Hansa Raj Bhatta won the elections with 4,042 votes while his closest rival of CPN-UML Nar Singh Chaisir got 3,580 votes.

Similarly, for the post of deputy mayor, Suna Bohara of NC got 4,127 votes while his closest rival of UML candidate Durga Dhami got 3, 040 votes .
In a total of nine wards, NC has won the elections in all the wards except ward 9.
