During discussions with committee representatives who had come to thank the metropolis for the Supreme Court order issued on January 18 and the subsequent lifting of the construction ban, Dangol stressed the need to move forward together by addressing residents’ legitimate demands rather than displacing them.
She thanked Valley residents living along riverbanks for raising their concerns in unity through courts, streets, and concerned offices at different times. Dangol also praised their cooperation, coordination, unity, and restraint shown even during periods of confusion and indecision.
After the meeting, Rishi Basyal, coordinator of the River Concern Struggle Committee, congratulated Dangol on assuming the role of acting mayor and urged her to continue working to protect citizens and resolve the problems faced by city residents. Activist Rajaram Tandukar and others also expressed thanks for the positive initiative.
