BARDIYA, Aug 14: Police have arrested four individuals with brown sugar from different locations in the district on Tuesday.
In Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-6, Mainapokhar, police apprehended 29-year-old Dharma Bahadur Pariyar and 28-year-old Jiwan Sunar of Gulariya Municipality-4. Upon inspection, authorities found 620 milligrams of a wet substance resembling brown sugar concealed on them.
Similarly, from Lalpur in Gulariya Municipality-11, police arrested 24-year-old Santosh Godiya of Ward No. 4, Tulapur. Godiya was detained while traveling from Ganeshpur towards Gulariya, and a search revealed 1.28 grams of a powdery substance suspected to be brown sugar.
In another incident, police seized 1.29 grams of a wet substance resembling brown sugar from 23-year-old Raj Kumar Pariyar of Madhuwan Municipality-3 in Kanthpur, Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-7.
According to DSP Chakra Bahadur Damarpal, all four suspects have been taken into custody, and police have obtained a five-day remand from the court for further investigation.
