Load-shedding reduced to 80 hrs a week

By No Author
KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decreased load-shedding to 80 hours a week from the existing 88, effective from Monday.

The improvement has been attributed to an increase in water level in Kulekhani project and to the measures to curb electricity theft. [break]

"The Mid-Marshyangdi Project which had been shut down for maintenance has also become operational after the completion of repair works," Chief of the Load Dispatch Center of NEA Chiranjibi Sharma said.

Sharma put the current peak demand at around 980 MW and revealed that supply was around 475 MW.
