KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Women Entrepreneurs Handicraft and Natural Fiber Products Fair kicked off in the premises of Tridevi Temple at Thamel in Kathmandu on Friday. Hari Prabha Khadgi, acting chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, inaugurated the fair that will continue until Saturday. The fair, organized by Federation of Handicraft Association of Nepal (FHAN), has 20 stalls displaying handicraft goods designed by women entrepreneurs. Issuing a statement on Friday, FHAN said that the fair aims to promote the handicraft and natural fiber products from small and cottage industries run by women in Kathmandu, and manage market for them. Products of banana fiber, cardamom fiber, ornaments, handmade paper products, and cloth items are the main attractions of the market, according to the organizers. The fair has been supported by Trade and Export Promotion Center of the Ministry of Commerce.
