KATHMANDU, March 12: Nepali stuntman Dinesh Sunar, holder of two world records in parkour, has made an attempt for hat-trick in the ‘most twisting back-flips off a wall in 30 seconds’ on Monday. Sunar completed 11 back-flips in 30 seconds.
Sunar submitted an official application to the Guinness Book of World Records, as per an announcement made at an event hosted by Nepal Parkour and Free-Running Association, in Kathmandu on Monday.

Khotang’s Sunar has won a gold medal in gymnastics for Armed Police Force Club, where he has been associated as athlete for the last seven years. Sunar has been playing parkour for the last 15 years. He aims to develop it as a mainstream sport in the country.
He has world records to his name for ‘the most twisting back-flips off wall’ completing 18 rotations in 2017 and ‘most back-flips in 30 seconds’ for completing 16 rotations in 2018.
Recently, Sunar finished eighth in an international tournament held in the United States participated by athletes from 80 different countries.
Chief guest on the occasion, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal stated that Nepali athletes were on par with international stars.
“It is a matter of pride for all Nepalis to see one of their own to hold the world records,” he added.
