Dinesh Sunar achieves Guinness World Record for most blindfolded standing backwards somersaults in one minute

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Dinesh Sunar, who currently lives in Akron, Ohio has made a world record for the most blindfolded standing backwards somersaults in one minute during the Guinness World Records (GWR) Day celebration 2022 held on Thursday. Sunar has set the record with 21 somersaults in a minute.

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Dinesh Sunar, who currently lives in Akron, Ohio has made a world record for the most blindfolded standing backwards somersaults in one minute during the Guinness World Records (GWR) Day celebration 2022 held on Thursday. Sunar has set the record with 21 somersaults in a minute.


Sunar is a gymnast, stuntman and parkour instructor and holds various other fitness records including most standing full twist backflips in 30 seconds – 13, most parkour twisting backflips off a wall in one minute – 18, most backward somersaults against a wall in 30 seconds (parkour) – 16, most twisting backflips off a wall in 30 seconds (parkour) – 12, and most full twist backward somersault burpees in one minute (male) – 12, according to the report of Guinness World Records.

He said growing up in a remote community with no transportation, infrastructure or utility facilities meant he had to teach himself all of his skills, using the sandbank of the local river as his practice location. He was inspired by Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Tony Jaa and Nikhil Uprety and started practicing his own stunts.
