Golden Gate defeated Samakhushi Youth Club by a huge margin of 107-33. Golden Gate scored 26 points in the first quarter of the match where Samakhushi were limping with 9 points. Golden Gate led the second quarter 23-8. In the third quarter, Golden Gate scored 41 points against seven of Samakhushi. In the final quarter, Golden Gate scored 17 points against nine and secured their berth in the semifinals. Sushil Gurung scored 55 points for Golden Gate with 11 three pointers.
However, the second quarterfinal-match was competitive, where Revolvers beat White Field 43-38. White Field led the first quarter of the match 18-13 but both the teams scored 8 points each in the second quarter. However, Revolvers took the lead in the third quarter, scoring 10 points against two points by White Field. In the final quarter, Revolver scored 12 points against 10 scored by White Field and won the competitive match to secure their semifinal berth.
Xavier International will face Pentagon while Unique will clash with Trinity on Tuesday for the remaining semifinal spots.
Budha Subba Gold Cup from mid-Jan
DHARAN, Dec 28: The Budha Subba Gold Cup, one of the prestigious football tournaments organized outside the Kathmandu valley, will be held from mid-January in Dharan.
Hosts Dharan Football Club organized a press conference here on Monday and informed that the tournament will take place from January 19 to 30. According to the hosts, one team each from India, Bhutan and Bangladesh will participate in the tournament, besides nine national clubs.
