KATHMANDU, March 15: Golden Gate International College and DAV College have advanced into the semifinals of the ongoing University Cricket Cup T20 Tournament on Wednesday. Golden Gate defeated Janata College by 62 runs at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Golden Gate won the toss and opted to bat first and presented a target of 172 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Janata failed to chase the target and made 109 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Ravi Kumar Sah of the winning team was named the man-of-the-match for his not out 42 runs off 27 balls.
DAV to host futsal tournament
In the other match played on the same day, DAV beat Shankar Dev Campus by eight wickets. DAV won the toss and elected to field first and got a target of 169 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, DAV chased the target hitting 172 runs for the loss of two wickets in 15.3 overs. DAV’s Aadil Khan was adjudged man-of-the-match for his 77 runs off 35 balls. TU will take on Cosmos College in the first last four match, while Golden Gate will face DAV in the second.
