KATHMANDU, Sept 4: DAV College is set to host an inter-college six-a-side futsal tournament on September 6-7 in Kathmandu. About 25 colleges from Kathmandu Valley are expected to participate in the event. According to Suman Basnet, academic director of DAV, the event will create an opportunity to all students and colleges to project their sports quality and exchange their knowledge regarding the same. The first prize for this competition is declared to be Rs 100,000. Similarly, the runner-up will get Rs 50,000. The best scorer, best player and best goal keeper of the tournament will also receive attractive gifts hampers. The format will be played in league-cum-knock-out rules. Dawa Lama, the president of National Futsal Committee and Central Member of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), stated the event can be a milestone exposure for the youths and will produce the players in the days to come.
