Locals in bordering areas with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China have long been complaining that failure on the part of the government to take initiative to open the Kimathanka border point had made them suffer different kinds of hardships.

Bhotkhola Rural Municipality has been declared a restricted area. Since foreign tourists do not visit the area, Chairman Lama has urged the government to allocate an additional 10 percent budget for the rural municipality.

In the memorandum, Chairman Lama also demanded Home Minister Shrestha to reinstate the immigration office at Bhotkhola and establish a police post in the Bhotkhola region. He has also demanded the government to allocate necessary budget for the establishment of police posts in Kimathanka, Chepuwa Ligam and Shyakshila area in the district.
