SANKHUWASABHA, July 3: Since the onset of monsoon rains, 43 families in Kimathanka, Sankhuwasabha district, have been displaced by landslides. Likewise, 20 sheds have been destroyed.
Two individuals lost their lives, and six others sustained injuries in the disasters.
Additionally, floods also damaged six motorway bridges during this period.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Dhruba Bahadur Khadka reported extensive damage to roads, rural areas, and electricity projects due to landslides under the Koshi Highway.
Floods displaced 24 families in Sagsewa and Mulgaon of Makalu Rural Municipality-2.
The floods have also wreaked havoc on water sources and electricity poles in Khandbari Municipality, transforming fertile lands into barren expanses.
CDO Khadka said that all three security agencies in the district are on standby for search and rescue operations.
