KATHMANDU, May 17: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chief Whip Gyanendra Shahi has demanded the government to open the file of Giri Bandhu Tea Estate.
He advised Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane not to bargain by opening other corruption files to evade the charges against him in the cooperative scam.
Govt will investigate Giri Bandhu Tea Estate case: PM Dahal
Shahi urged that corruption files should be opened without any bargaining. Speaking to reporters at the Parliament Building premises on Friday, he stated, "Let's open the file of Giri Bandhu Tea Estate; it comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs. No need to go anywhere. It only requires a signature after which it will take two hours to open the file."
The Supreme Court has recently ruled against allowing Giri Bandhu Tea Estate to conduct a land swap. The main opposition Nepali Congress has also started raising questions about this scam.
In addition to the Giri Bandhu Tea Estate, the RPP suggested the Home Minister address other significant corruption cases, including the cantonment scam, Omni scam, widebody scam, Lalita Niwas land grab scam, and Chhaya Center case.
Shahi also emphasized that the issue of Nirmala Panta's murder remains a mystery and demanded further action on this case.
