KATHMANDU, June 20: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has challenged CPN-UML Chairman and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli to substantiate his allegation that the NC sold the land of Giri Bandhu Tea Estate in lure of commissions.
Sharma made this challenge during a workshop on the future action plan of the Nepal Women's Association for gender equality enhancement, held in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Sharma demanded an official investigation, including the formation of a probe committee, to verify if any land was sold for commissions. Sharma criticized Oli for raising the issue impulsively and argued that it is not for the NC to respond to such unfounded claims.
Sharma said, "You have heard about our dedication. Recently, KP Comrade alleged that the NC sold 91 bighas of land of the Giri Bandhu Tea Estate and took commissions. This is the extent of KP Comrade's passion. Nevertheless, I respect KP Comrade as well as my district leaders. I hold both leaders in high regard."
General Secretary Sharma said he respects both Oli and NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula as esteemed leaders from his district.
