Kathmandu, Feb 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed the Nepal Police to conduct fair investigations based on evidence and facts.
While inaugurating 'The Blue Pavilion' on the premises of Nepal Police Club at Bhrikutimandap on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli directed the police force to work with determination in maintaining the rule of law and ensuring peace and security in the country.
"You must act according to the expectations of the people. The public expects fairness and good behavior from the police. Therefore, work by placing the interests of the country and the people at the centre in line with the constitution and the law,” said Prime Minister Oli. “Conduct investigations confidently against smugglers, corrupt individuals, and fraudsters. Work more effectively while ensuring peace, order, national interest, and unity in the country.”

During the event, Prime Minister Oli released the second part of the history of Nepal Police and honored officials, technicians, and builders who contributed to the construction of the building.
The pavilion, which was initiated four years back was constructed at a cost of Rs 750.87 million.
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak expressed his commitment to quickly pass the bill to amend the Nepal Police Act in Parliament, incorporating any constructive suggestions that may arise.
Addressing the same programme, Inspector General of Police, Basant Bahadur Kunwar, handed over a check for Rs 7.4 million to the prime minister for the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.
Present at the event were the prime minister's chief advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, MP Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan, among others.
